The metal mesh system solutions presented by GKD included ceiling systems that can be designed to match the respective application. These sound-absorbing, light-reflecting or design ceilings are available as element, grid or customized ceilings with substructure. Composite (CMP) mesh, an element consisting of a honeycomb supporting plate with laminated wire mesh layer, convinces thanks to its integrated sound absorption properties. The large, stable panels are ideal for use as a visually seamless ceiling solution or wall or column cladding.
In the summer, solar protection systems made of metal mesh reflect thermal radiation before it reaches the building shell. In the winter months, however, the mesh permits solar input when the sun is low. As such, the woven shell makes a key contribution to the positive energy balance of a building. At the same time, the translucent mesh makes the buildings more pleasant for their users and reduces energy consumption for artificial lighting or air conditioning.
Metal mesh fall guard protection for balustrades, stairwells or balconies has proven its worth in numerous applications and offers an attractive appearance together with excellent functional properties. The systems consist of metallic mesh panels with frames, fittings, posts and railings and offer effective safety. Roller blinds provide protection from unauthorized access in gastronomy and public areas such as counters or shops while at the same time granting an unhindered view of the window display.
Transparent Mediamesh® systems were developed specifically for long-term medialization concepts in the field of architecture. Moreover, because they are available in a wide range of widths and lengths, they enable media content to be displayed on even extremely large façades. The brilliant display of graphics, images or videos both during the day and at night impresses in numerous installations, whether used for advertising, art or to strengthen a company’s corporate identity. Because the woven panels have a transparency of 55 to 65 percent, the area behind the façade remains fully visible. In indoor applications, too, the transparent screens provide a real highlight without compromising the visual openness of architectural concepts.
